Ladies’ Fives getting off the ground at Cambridge

It’s a slow process getting ladies’ fives established in Cambridge, but last term saw the first success for a Cambridge lady when Sienna Tompkins won the Lady’s Mug with Jacob Ader.

This term saw the first match involving Cambridge ladies when Elena Osen and Maddy Skipsey took on Rugby School’s strong senior pair of Millie Richards and Kate Broad in a friendly. CURFC Captain Jacob Brubert is hoping to raise a IV to play in a first ever Ladies’ Varsity Match on the 21st of February at St. Paul’s. Not since the 1930s, when Newnham College had a court, has ladies’ fives figured at Cambridge. From small acorns…….
