Cambridge players dominate the National U25 Championships

Oundle School, 6-7 February 2016

Cambridge’s squad of 5 players dominated the event this year, with Ed Kay doing the double.

Ed won the Singles for the second year in a row, then paired up with Matt Shaw for their second consecutive victory in the Doubles. This means that Ed has now won the Doubles five times (three times previously with Dan Tristao), equalling our own Paddy d’Ancona’s record of 5 wins.

While Ed and Matt were celebrating spare a thought for Ben Beltrami who was runner-up to Ed in the Singles final for the second year in a row and then runner-up with Ollie Arnold in the Doubles.

By way of compensation, however, Ben heard the next day that he has been awarded a Full Blue for Fives, thus joining the elite club of Brian Elfick, Alan Beverly, Charlie Brooks and Ed Kay.
