Success at the British Universities Championships
The 8-man Cambridge squad competing in the British Universities Student Fives competition at Sherborne came away with the team title and the Doubles Cup.
Ben Beltrami and Matt Shaw (see photo below) , in their freshman year, won the Doubles, beating Bristol I in the semi-final and UCL I in the final, both matches in straight games. Defending champions Ed Kay and Jacob Brubert went out to UCL in the semi-final in a tense three-setter.
In the Singles Ed Kay (photo below with RFA President Bob Dolby) was runner-up to Dan Grant of UCL, who won the title for the third year in a row. Ben Beltrami also lost to Grant in the semi-final.
Other competitors from CURFC were Jack Malde, Jacob Ader, Tom Bury and Richard Law.
