Gold and Silver galore at the National U25s

There was a near-clean sweep of the medals for Cambridge at this year’s National U25 championships.

Ed Kay won the all-Cambridge Singles final against Ben Beltrami, who had beaten fellow-CURFC player Matt Shaw in one semi-final. It was Ed’s third in a row.

Ed then went on to win his 6th consecutive Doubles title, this time completing a hat-trick with Matt Shaw, having previously won 3 times with Dan Tristao. The unlucky runners-up were Ben Beltrami  and Ollie Arnold, the only non-Cambridge medallist.

Jeremy Manger and Andrew Boyd, both CU freshmen, also entered the event and obtained valuable experience ahead of their first Varsity Match.
